NATIONAL Instruments has introduced NI TestStand 2010, the latest version of the widely-popular commercial off-the-shelf test management software.
NI TestStand aids test engineers in building a powerful software framework for accelerating the development of test sequences, and is said to minimise the total cost of ownership associated with maintaining test executive software deployed across many test stations.
The 2010 version of NI TestStand adds various team-based development features, including a Sequence Analyser, a three-way file diff-and-merge utility, support for new PC technologies, and enhanced integration with NI LabVIEW graphical system design software.
The new Sequence Analyser feature promises to reduce the time required to debug test sequences and help users better adhere to coding guidelines and best practices for NI TestStand.
After engineers create a test sequence, the Sequence Analyser checks the code against standard rules to ensure error-free code. It includes numerous rules for common errors and also helps engineers create their own custom rules within the utility.
According to National Instruments, NI TestStand 2010 is ideal for a variety of automated test applications within telecommunications, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace/defence and other industries.
NI TestStand 2010 supports 64-bit integers and pointers, simplifying migration to 64-bit code modules so engineers can develop more memory-intensive applications.
