ENLIGHTEN Australia has announced the “Chamaeleon” multi-function LED light which can save up to 93 percent on energy costs.
The Chamaeleon technology was designed and patented in Sydney. It provides a range of low energy lighting solutions for areas where lights are left on continuously.
The Chamaeleon is fitted with microwave (motion) and PE (light) sensors to ensure that permanent low energy background lighting is available at all times and provides full lighting when a space is occupied.
Following several pilot trials, the Chamaeleon was recently installed at a number of customer sites including buildings owned and managed by the City of Sydney and Gosford City Council.
enLighten Australia reported energy savings on these projects varying from 82% to 93% depending on the type of lighting that was replaced. ROI, with Energy Saving Certificate factored into the calculation, was found to be from 1.8 years to 0.7 years.
The University of Technology Sydney will shortly commence a phased installation of Chamaeleon in fire stairs throughout its campus and several other wide scale commercial and retail deployments are expected to be announced soon. Pilot trials have also been conducted at AMP and Lend Lease.
enLighten plans to expand its product range significantly over the next twelve months and has several other lighting products and patents currently under development.
