Teledyne DALSA has released 2K and 4K resolution GigE scan cameras for machine vision use.
The new cameras are expansions of the Linea range of low-cost scan cameras that promise to deliver high speed and flexibility, and help lower the cost of machine inspection.
The newly released Linea GigE cameras offer features such as up to 2×2 binning and multiple ROI. New to the Linea range is a cycling mode, allows users to cycle through preset camera parameters, gain, exposure time, I/O outputs and FFC coefficients for each line.
Also new is extended dynamic range imaging, and Teledyne DALSA's TurboDrive technology that allows the 2k and 4k Linea GigE models to utilise the full speed of the sensor (up to 80 kHz line rate) with no loss of image quality.
Previously, acquiring 4K resolution footage at 80kHz was not possible on GigE due to bandwidth limitations. Teledyne DALSA says TurboDrive bypasses this limit.
The new Linea GigE line scan cameras take full advantage of Sapera LT Software Development Kit (SDK) which enables easy configuration and setup, and includes Teledyne DALSA's Trigger-to-Image-Reliability diagnostic and monitoring tools.
Teledyne DALSA is pitching the Linea cameras to replace more expensive cameras or camera and frame grabber combinations, citing their feature set, low-cost and high speed.
