Oz start-up selected for entrepreneur program

Australian tech start-up IoL Technologies has been selected in Ernst and Young’s (EY) 2017 Accelerating Entrepreneurs program.

EY’s 2017 Accelerating Entrepreneurs program enables entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and foster strategic growth through support, expert guidance and networking opportunities. It took place at the EY Strategic Growth Forum Mediterranean in Rome from 8-10th February, where IoL had access to some of the best business minds in the world.

Founder of IoL Technologies, David Whitefield, said, “EY’s excellent program helped us leverage valuable networking opportunities and secure three strategic partnerships in the areas of transportation, IOT and smart systems.

“The event also showcased the importance the world is placing on energy efficiency – especially at a senior Government level. We met with Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers, G20 Representatives and the Founders of over 40 emerging companies from Australia, SE Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North Africa to open up a dialogue about smart lighting across the world.”

EY nominated IoL for their work around ‘Smart Cities’ and the embedding of an Internet of Things (IoT) platform inside LED lights. The platform offers a series of high-value commercial and social opportunities to deliver greener, liveable and sustainable urban spaces through a unified, IoT enabled system.

The IoT platform utilises intelligent light technology, which transforms lighting into an integrated sensor and communications system. It tracks people and objects in real-time and communicates with buildings to create unified infrastructure across cities and urban environments.

As more and more companies embrace IoT technology, IoL’s unrivalled platform is set to flourish. With current projects in Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia, the Australian start-up is set to lead the way in intelligent lighting and smart cities development in the future.
