It has been rumoured for some time that the next version of Apple’s iPhone will have an OLED screen. Analyst KGI Securities has issued a report that seems to back up the assertion.
The report states there will be three new models – one with a 4.7-inch LCD and single camera, another with a 5-5-inch LCD and dual camera, while the third will have 5.5-inch OLED screen with dual camera.
There have been rumours that the screen sizes might up to has much as 5.8 inches with the bezel being sacrificed for an all-round glass look. Speaking of glass, another rumour is that the casing could be all-glass, which was last seen on the iPhone 4 iteration of the smartphone.
While the OLED is only a rumour, it makes a lot of sense when taking into consideration that not only do consumers love the technology, but Apple has already used the technology on its watches and latest MacBook Pro.
As to who will supply the screen technology, there seems to be a fight amongst Sharp, LG and Samsung to get the contract.
