STMicroelectronics (ST) is set to showcase their latest innovations on the internet of things (IoT) for smart cities that create an easier quality of life.

IoT has become a widely approved solution for future possibilities, with the increase of “connected things” expected to reach 8.6 billion in 2020.

It provides functionality and ecosystems required to build IoT applications and smart things; developing everything from processing, connectivity and sensing to power and energy management, and analog.

ST will deliver a wide portfolio of solutions to enable cities to transition into smart cities and for factories and workplaces to become smart factories and workplaces.

One of their major highlights will be the next generation smart building demonstration.

This features a range of ST technologies including STM32 Nucleo development boards and expansion boards equipped with different sensors, motor drivers, communication features, security and power devices.

ST will also demonstrate their STM32 Open Development Environment that combines comprehensive software with modular hardware to offer faster and more affordable ways to create prototypes and develop smart things using ST technology.
