We recently ran a story about Panasonic and its invisible television, now there is a rumour doing the rounds about an OLED that can stick to your wall like wallpaper.

It’s nothing solid, but certainly not unthinkable. OLED technology is flexible, which means you can bend and shape it into many various forms. However, there would be a few issues. There is more to television than its screen. As well as plenty of internal componentry you also need USB ports, HDMI slots and a power cord.

The rumoured version, from Korean CE specialist LG, was first touted by consumer election website flatpanelshd, which in turn had looked on the WiFi Alliance website, where it has listed what it claims is the 2017 range of LG’s OLED televisions. Amongst the list was the mysteriously named OLED65W7, a 645-mch version with the writer of the article speculating that the ‘W’ stood for wallpaper.

This leap of logic is not unfounded. Last year the company showed off a proof-of-concept version at one of its factories. It weighed just under 2kg, but had a few features missing including the aforementioned power cord.
