American Digital Pioneer and US Government former Presidential Innovation Fellow, Hillary Hartley, will visit Australia in November to share insights from her experiences transforming US digital government services to increase efficiencies and better engage citizens.
A self-confessed ‘alpha geek,’ Hartley is one of the leading advocates for digital transformation for the US Government. She was recognised in 2013 by President Barack Obama as a Presidential Innovation Fellow for her pioneering approach to transforming digital government services. Hartley is known across America for her work evangelising “government 2.0” and customer service best practices for government. Her mission to transform outdated government practices is led by the objective to change the culture of service delivery, making interactions with government easier and more streamlined.
Speaking at the GovInnovate Summit in Canberra to senior public sector digital and IT executives, Hartley will talk about building a 21st century digital government and opportunities for disruption. She will share insights on delivering agile, open, transparent and data-driven digital services, and how governments can better connect with digitally savvy citizens.
Visiting Australia for the first time, Hartley is looking forward to sharing her experiences with Australia’s digital experts.
“I’m excited to participate at GovInnovate since we’ve learned so much from our international peers. It’s also a great opportunity to share the work we’ve done for US agencies to make government more efficient and accessible through digital services,” said Ms Hartley.
Hallmark tech projects from Hartley and her team include the enhancements to US service HealthCare.gov, improving the benefits claims service at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, expediting the immigration application process at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and reworking the Federal Election Commission’s website into a user-friendly database of searchable financial election records.
Hartley will speak at the 5th annual GovInnovate Summit on 14-16 November 2016 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.
