Dyesol partners with Solliance to accelerate development of steel-based solar technology

DYESOL has signed on as an Industrial Partner to Solliance, a solar energy consortium in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Solliance is a partnership of major Belgian, Dutch and German companies, research institutes and universities working in thin film photovoltaic solar energy. The consortium provides state of the art laboratories and pilot production lines which are jointly used for dedicated research programmes.

Dyesol on the other hand is a world leader in the industrialisation of Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC).

The three year agreement gives Dyesol access to the world’s best processing equipment and expertise suited to the commercialisation of its Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC) technology on steel. Dyesol will have access to the foreground and background IP of its Solliance R&D partners, while protecting its own background IP.

Solliance’s capability in the roll-to-roll processing of flexible PV enabled substrates, together with Dyesol’s expertise in PSC processing, device design and materials will enable both parties to accelerate the commercialisation for a viable PSC-based steel product.

By using Solliance’s laboratories and pilot production lines, Dyesol will be able to reduce its steel-related capital expenditure and increase internal focus on its core PSC technology development.

Dyesol says PSC would be supplied to the global cladding and roofing markets where attractive margins will be achievable.
