DataDot renews microdot supply contract with Subaru

DATADOT has renewed is supply contract with Subaru Australia, under which it will supply its microdot-based Theft Deterrent System to over 40,000 Subaru cars sold annually in Australia.

The supply contract has been extended to cover a term of three years, up from the previous one year.

The DataDotDNA microdots are encoded with Subaru branding and the unique VIN number of the car to which it is supplied, in order to increase trackability.

The supply contract has also been extended with a number of major features, including a DataDot theft deterrent warranty under which Subaru owners will be reimbursed comprehensive insurance theft excess, to a maximum of $800, in the event their Subaru is stolen and unrecovered in the three years following purchase subject to specified conditions/

A new parts-marking initiative will detect parallel imports and non-approved parts and protect Subaru from false warranty claims.
