A hydrogen fuel-cell bicycle that can travel 125km and a Tesla Model S that’s available for hire are among exhibits at CeBIT Australia 2016 which is currently underway this week.

The Sydney-based Australian trade fair attracts business technology professionals, analysts, start-ups, angel investors, software and hardware companies. This year CeBIT will host 10 conferences and feature 300 exhibitors and 82 start-ups over three days.

According to CeBIT Australia project director Bruce Ewan, 15,000 people are expected to attend the event, which this year would include a new concept -showfloor theatres -with continuous 30-minute sessions covering everything from digital disruption and digital transformation through to marketing, collaboration, and visual technologies.

Keynote speakers include Kathryn Parsons, co-chief executive of Decoder, a technology educator that builds a culture of innovation and know-how within organisations. IBM’s chief innovation Bernard Meyerson will spruik cognitive computing and artificial intelligence.

German company Inotec will feature its Zeustschel OS1600, a machine that scans rare and fragile books and manuscripts.

Australian firms will show off their virtual reality and augmented reality offerings. They include VR Panos, which produces cardboard VR goggles and VR applications and Auggd, another company that develops VR and AR applications.
