The connectors incorporate a Coplanar Alignment Rib (CAR) that delivers good terminal position control for the automotive market. The CAR SMT connectors require no additional fasteners to attach them to the PCB, while preserving space and reducing applied costs.
It’s designed for vertical or horizontal PCB orientation and available in a range of position sizes from 4 to 52 circuits. The terminal position (coplanar location) is controlled within 0.13mm and can be applied with lower amounts of solder paste than other SMT automotive connectors.
The J-shaped terminal leads provide a large solder area and are compliant to withstand thermal and mechanical stresses, minimising solder joint stress. The CAR SMT connectors include an integral SMT solder clip for robust Printed Circuit Boards attachment.
