Fairchild Semiconductor files further patent claims against Power Integrations

FAIRCHILD Semiconductor is suing Power Integrations in the US again over patent infringements, a week after a verdict which favoured Fairchild.

A jury verdict found that Power Integrations' LinkSwitch-II and LinkSwitch-CV products infringed on Fairchild's patent claims.

Now, Fairchild has filed suit in the US District Court in Delaware, alleging that three new patents which extend its primary side regulation technology have been infringed by Power Integrations' LinkSwitch-PH LED power conversion products.

Fairchild is seeking an injunction preventing further infringement and also financial damages. Wilfulness and damages in that case will be determined in a second phase, which has yet to be scheduled and may occur after appeals of the first phase.

Also included in the lawsuit filed are claims that Power Integrations is further inducing infringement of the Fairchild patent claims found to have been infringed in last week's jury finding.
